The ultrabook is kind of a tablet moonlighting as a laptop (or a laptop moonlighting as a tablet) but we’ve included it in this category and here is why:
It's called "Yoga" because it's a tablet that literally bends into a laptop.
A scratch-resistant keyboard with a palm rest can be hidden underneath the tablet screen with the help of a hinge – allowing users to switch from tablet to laptop mode.
It runs (will run) on Windows 8, so there's bound to be a lot of interest in it.
Lenovo haven’t released all of its technical specifications yet but it did say it adheres to the required specifications to give it the “ultrabook classification”.
That means fast, lightweight and long battery life. To be classified as an ultrabook, the Yoga must weigh no more than 1.3kg, have a minimum of 8GB of RAM and an Intel Core CPU. It must also be no more than 25mm thick.
Much like a convertible car - the modifications increase the price significantly. An official price hasn’t been released yet but Lenovo says we should expect it to cost around US $1200. That's a pretty high asking price.
